What happens in episode 1 of Kitty Kittara?
Kitty wakes her partner with her face an inch from his, cat ears on, two-tone hair spilling across the pillow. She wants to be petted, then fed, then petted again, and the episode leans into the domestic sweetness of it: fairy lights, paw-print mugs, pancakes on a patterned plate.
The mood turns on a phone screen. A message arrives, Kitty wants to know who she is, and the answer is worse than jealousy: he got the scholarship he applied for and has to leave. The last shots are of a closed door and Kitty on the other side of it, asking to be let in. It is the softest series in the catalogue, playful and clingy rather than dark, and that last image lingers.
On the episode 2 poster Kitty is curled on the sofa in a loose red top, alone with the fairy lights. Distance is the subject from here, and she does not take it quietly.
