What happens in episode 1 of The King's Chambermaid?
In The King's Chambermaid, the queen sends a servant to dress her husband each morning of the harvest court, and the king notices exactly which servant she chose. The chambermaid has red braids, a laced bodice and a habit of fastening his clothes very slowly. When she fumbles his ring, a guard moves to punish her, and the king stops him with a threat.
That moment of protection changes the balance. The queen appears in the doorway to remind her lord husband that the court is waiting; he answers that the court can wait for its king. Everything is lit like an oil painting, amber and smoke. Before she leaves he asks how he can see her again, and she tells him she turns his bed down at midnight.
The poster for episode 2 has the maid's bodice loosened and the king leaning close in candlelight. Midnight has arrived, and the queen hears everything in this castle.
